Avenue of the Baobabs, located in western Madagascar near Morondava, is one of the country’s most iconic landscapes, featuring a stunning row of ancient baobab trees along a dirt road. Some of these massive trees are over 800 years old and can reach 30 meters (98 feet) in height. The site is especially breathtaking at sunrise and sunset, when the golden light enhances the dramatic silhouettes of the trees. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions like the Baobab Amoureux (Lover’s Baobabs) and Kirindy Forest for wildlife spotting. The best time to visit is April–November (dry season). Entry is free, but local guides are available, and Morondava is accessible via a 1-hour flight or 12-hour drive from Antananarivo.
