Dja Faunal Reserve, located in southeastern Cameroon, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s largest and best-preserved rainforests, covering 5,260 km². It is home to over 100 mammal species, including Western lowland gorillas, chimpanzees, forest elephants, leopards, and rare birds. The Dja River forms a natural boundary around the reserve, protecting its biodiversity. Visitors can explore the jungle through guided wildlife treks, birdwatching, and cultural encounters with the indigenous Baka people. The best time to visit is December–March (dry season) for easier trekking. Entry fees start at $10–$20 per person, and the reserve is accessible via a 7-hour drive from Yaoundé.
