The Okavango Delta, located in Botswana, is one of the largest inland deltas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spanning 15,000 km², it is a unique seasonal wetland where the Okavango River floods the Kalahari Desert, creating a lush oasis teeming with wildlife. It is home to the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and over 400 bird species. Visitors can explore the delta through mokoro (dugout canoe) safaris, game drives, walking safaris, and helicopter tours. The best time to visit is May–October (dry season) when the floodwaters peak, attracting abundant wildlife. Access is via Maun or Kasane airports, with flights or boat transfers to luxury lodges and campsites.
