Victoria Falls, located on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, is one of the largest and most spectacular waterfalls in the world. Known locally as "Mosi-oa-Tunya" (The Smoke That Thunders), it spans 1.7 km (1.1 miles) wide and drops 108 meters (354 feet) into the Zambezi Gorge. The falls create a stunning mist visible from miles away and produce the world's largest sheet of falling water. Visitors can enjoy viewing trails, helicopter flights, bungee jumping, white-water rafting, and Devil’s Pool (a natural infinity pool at the edge of the falls). The best time to visit is February–May, after the rainy season, when the falls are at their fullest. The site is accessible via Livingstone (Zambia) or Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) airports.
