Amboseli National Park, located in southern Kenya, is famous for its large elephant herds and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain. Covering 392 km², the park is home to the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), along with giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and over 400 bird species. Amboseli’s open plains, swamps, and acacia woodlands make wildlife viewing exceptional, especially in the dry seasons (June–October & January–February) when animals gather around water sources. Visitors can enjoy game drives, cultural visits to Maasai villages, and photography safaris. Entry fees are $60 per day for non-residents, and the park is accessible by road (4 hours from Nairobi) or a 40-minute flight to Amboseli Airstrip.
