Karnak Temple, located in Luxor, Egypt, is one of the largest and most impressive temple complexes in the world, covering over 200 acres. Built over 2,000 years (from 2000 BCE to 30 BCE), it was dedicated primarily to the god Amun-Ra, along with Mut and Khonsu, forming the Theban Triad. The most famous section is the Great Hypostyle Hall, featuring 134 massive columns arranged in 16 rows, some standing 23 meters (75 feet) tall. Other highlights include the Sacred Lake, obelisks, statues, and pylons added by various pharaohs, including Hatshepsut, Ramses II, and Seti I. The temple is connected to Luxor Temple by the Avenue of Sphinxes, a restored 3-km processional road. Entry costs around 450 EGP (~$15 USD), and visiting at night for the Sound and Light Show offers a magical experience.
